One big reason I started to see my nutritionist was because of my Anxiety. I never thought that seeing him would help me in this way in a million, zillion years!! Being that he is holistic he of course didn't believe in being medicated for Anxiety. I at that point was taking Xanax. Granted, it was only once in a while. For example a prescription of 90 would last me a year! My anxiety would pop up in the most unexpected places - I would be silent or scream and cry and be completely uncontrollable…Not…Cool! My main problem that caused anxiety was over thinking, & over analyzing every…single…situation. The Dr. was grateful that I didn't take them frequently but still, he didn't want me taking them at all. As I started the diet I still had anxiety but refused to take it. I tried dealing with the anxiety in a more healthy, natural way. One of the things he told me to do when I started to feel anxious was to meditate. Meditate? Are you nuts? That's weird. At least, that's what I thought. But, I put on my big girl panties and did it! It was simple. I needed to sit still with my hands on my knees, and sit up straight and BREATHE. do nothing, but breathe. If you had an itch you couldn't scratch it. If you had a tingle you couldn't do anything about it… Just…Breathe!!! I was told to do it for 5 minutes. Believe it or not… IT WORKS!! If I felt anxiety coming on at work I would take my break…go to my car….meditate & then I felt fine! Unbelievable!! Now, this was all at the beginning of the diet. After eating healthy (no processed foods, no gluten, no dairy, etc.) naturally the anxiety just….went away. UNBELIEVABLE. Honestly, still can't even believe it myself. In the last 4 months of being on this diet (i should change that word to lifestyle) I have taken a Xanax TWO TIMES. (getting on a plane… one way though -i toughed it out on the way back with…BREATHING! and right before zip lining….TERRIFIED OF HEIGHTS). That's it. Eating healthy, and living a healthy life style can help you in SO many ways… Ways you would NEVER expect. Just try it. You never know what will come out of it. But when I say try it I mean REALLY TRY IT. Don't give up after a week. Use your inner power to push through the struggles and I promise you'll come out on the other end smiling and so proud of yourself. Screw you Xanax.. I don't need you :) |

The prior night I couldn't fall asleep either but it was just me and the TV was off. In this case I followed step 4 in the sleep routine section. As I was taking deep breathes I just kept saying to myself, "Go to sleep," "Go to sleep." It actually helped because my brain was focused on that and NOTHING else. My mind wasn't wondering going on and on about what happened that day or what will happen the next day or any stories the imagination creates. Again, I slept through the night!
If you're having trouble sleeping try following some of the steps above that my miracle doctor gave to me. But, remember…Just because one step doesn't work for you it DOESN'T mean another will.
Before I started eating clean I was hearing how when you do start and you've been doing it for a few months if you go off track for more than a week then you start to feel exhausted, and some major fatigue because all of the sudden you're beating up your body again and now you're body is confused and full of the toxins you got rid of by eating clean.
WELL... I think I went there..! I went away on vacation and of course had drinks and cheated majorly when it came to lunch time (but not breakfast or dinner) and then came home and during work at clean and dinner ate clean.. but I started snacking again on BAD things. So what did I do? I went food shopping!!! I spent most of my time in the fruit and veggie section as well as the meats and only went down one aisle. They say that the healthiest things you can eat in a super market is surrounding the supermarket... avoiding the aisles at all costs is best!! aisles is where you find all the junk foods, and anything bad you can put into your body (such as the bad chemicals, food dyes, etc.). Once I came home and put all the food away I still feel exhausted BUT mentally I feel so much better and can't wait to be back on track tomorrow. I have my appt with my nutritionist on Saturday and his goal for me for that visit is 148.. I'm at 151...so i have 3 pounds to lose this week and with my clean eating and major water consumption I know I can get there!! What was found in my shopping cart this morning? Broccoli Asparagus Shredded Lettuce Strawberries Cherries Cucumbers Apples Chili Peppers Green Beans Peas Corn Carrots Kale Mini Sorted Bell Peppers Ground Beef Thin Sliced Chicken Cutlets GF Turkey Burger Patties Bacon Oikos Lowfat Vanilla Yogurt Oikos Lowfat Toasted Almond Vanilla Yogurt Quinoa (aisle food!) Almond Milk Now...Let's get back on track and lose 3 pounds.. You all with me?!
