Recently our Diamond Bride went Wedding Dress Shopping for the very first time. While she was there she realized she had a lot of questions, concerns and What do I do moments... Check below for:
A Diamond Brides Tips for Dress Shopping...
- Shopping for your wedding dress is one of the most exciting parts of planning your wedding. Here are a few tips for the occasion.
- Go out and buy yourself a little silk robe to bring with you to each shop. It’s a lot of work slipping those big beautiful dresses on and off and most of the time you are not the only bride in the room. I found that bringing a robe to throw on after you slip off the dress and hand it to the attendant was super helpful! Unless you don’t mind the other brides and their families seeing your toosh!
- Bring people with you who you know will always tell you the truth ( good or bad). You need honest opinions while shopping for the dress of your dreams!
- Don’t be afraid of hurting your consultant’s feelings. They are there to assist you, if you don’t like it then tell them! You will make their job easier by being truthful of what you want. Trying on a dress that you are not in love with is just a waste of both of your time.
- Bring your Bridal Binder with you! Write down all the brands and style numbers of the dresses you like! Sometimes you can find it cheaper online than in a store!
- TRY EVERYTHING ON! I get this tip from my mother. You may hate something on the rack and yet it looks absolutely stunning once you have it on, so give everything a chance! That’s why you’re there!
- Have an idea of what style you want and make sure you wear the appropriate bra (nude) so that you can really get a feel for how it would look. You’re going to hate every dress you try on if you have bright pink straps hanging out!
- Book your appointments for FIRST THING IN THE MORNING! I know this can be a pain, but trust me, it will be worth it. Try to book your appointment when the store first opens up in the morning. Chances are you will be the only one crazy enough to wake up that early (especially on a Saturday/Sunday). You will see how packed the place gets around noon and hopefully by that time you will be on your way out and avoid the mayhem.
- TAKE PICTURES! You’re allowed to! I would also print out the pictures of the dresses you really like and paste them in your Bridal Book! That way after all the shopping you can look back and compare the dresses side by side. This will help while you make your final decision.
Hope these tips help you fellow bride-to-be’s
on your journey to the perfect wedding!
Cheers!
