You're wrong if you think you can't exercise while you're on vacation… you probably just don't want to! If that's true - you're just like me!! I just got back from vacationing in Puerta Plata, Dominican Republic and did I go to a gym? or run? or jog? anything of the sort? No! But, I found that while doing excursions I was exercising. We swam with Dolphins!!! This was such an AWESOME experience and you absolutely needed to use those muscles! In one of the exercises they had us do with the dolphins they used there noses to push your feet while you were on a boogie board and you had to turn the boogie board to turn in the water to go into a circle formation.. in this case you had to use your calf muscles and arm muscles.. and boy it was a 20 second thing but you felt it!! In another exercise with the dolphins you had to lay in the water and float with your toes pointing to the ground and they pushed your feet and lifted you up so you were ALMOST standing and in this case you had to use the muscles of your entire body so you didn't fall backwards until they fling you into the water! Ziplining was awesome! this was another excursion we did and to get to a few of the zip lines you had to do a small hike so we got some cardio in and had to use our leg muscles A LOT. then you needed arm strength to do the actual hipline One of the outside excursions was tubing on a chair tube. I was on it with my boyfriend and the boat pulls you around the ocean and you needed some CRAZY arm and butt muscle strength for this one! as they pulled you, you needed to hold on VERY TIGHTLY to the tube so you didn't flip off of it, and you needed your butt muscles to keep you ON the tube. Just because you're on vacation doesn't mean you need to step away from your good health habits & exercise! |
