| On Monday I spoke with my nutritionist because I was getting very stressed out about not losing anymore weight.. I was at a stand still! I'm sure you know how frustrating that is. When that happens it makes you wonder why you're doing this…especially when it's not working. He explained to me when you stress about something and keep thinking about it, it releases cortisol which slows your metabolism which will slow the weight loss (just like when you're in your menstrual cycle and you're due and you keep thinking about it and thinking about it and you end up being a week late). Dr. D knows how I at times, just like many of you ladies out there, get down on myself and I become very hard on myself so he e-mailed me this video (to the left) called "Stop it" with Bob Newhart, which is a Comedy Central Skit. It's very funny and Me to a tee!! This woman explains that her problem is that she has a fear of being buried alive inside a box and the therapist just says "stop it" repeatedly. she proceeds to say her other fears (which in my opinion is just over thinking something) and his only advice is "Stop it!" He's right. Just STOP IT! Stop over thinking. When you just "STOP IT!" when it comes to over thinking things will move forward, you will move forward and you can then live your life in a more peaceful manor without worrying about this or that every minute of your life. Now, after watching this, I'm vowing to myself to yell "STOP IT!" to myself when I find myself over thinking a situation, and over analyzing…two things I do often. Will you vow to yourself to do the same? Moral of this story…. ? STOP IT!! |
