In the last blog post I talked about Penciling in your eyebrows. Now, before doing the wonderful pencil what should you do first? Pluck? Thread? Or Wax? There are negatives and positives to each choice. You make your choice… and, Don't pencil in unless you really have to!
Plucking your eyebrows: More Precision
Eyebrow Threading: Less Painful
This is when a cotton thread is twisted into a double strand and used to pull out the hairs quickly. One strand at a time is removed which makes it less painful
Waxing: Faster, takes more time for re-growth
Plucking your eyebrows: More Precision
- When getting a tweezer make sure you choose a sharp slanted style tweezer as it will make it a lot easier when it comes to plucking your brows
- Your eyebrows ARE supposed to be the length of your eye.. do not make them shorter on the left side, or the right side!
- Only clean up your eyebrow - go with your natural arch so that you can keep the natural shape and just look more clean
- The best time to clean up your eyebrows is after the shower or washing your face as the heat from the water will soften the follicles.
Eyebrow Threading: Less Painful
This is when a cotton thread is twisted into a double strand and used to pull out the hairs quickly. One strand at a time is removed which makes it less painful
- When getting this done MAKE SURE the Threading tech. is using a NEW cotton strand, as i've seen places in Malls use the same strand.
- Also, Make sure they do NOT put the strand into the mouth to "slick" it…this is EXTREMELY unsanitary - I've seen this too!
Waxing: Faster, takes more time for re-growth
- Get this done by a professional or someone other than yourself. Waxing your eyebrows on your own leaves MUCH MORE room for error.
- When your eyebrows are growing back the hairs grow back softer and thinner
- If you have sensitive skin you're arches may turn red and be sore temporarily
